Get High! 2010
Hey JC1s & JC2 (:
2 major events happening in term 2!
1) Get High! 2010--NYJC Piano Ensemble Mini Concert (:
Date: 21st April 2010, Wednesday, Common Lunch Break
Venue: to be confirmed
Our Get High! Concert in LT2 way back in 2008 was a great success! It was actually full house (: So this year, we'll hold our own NYPE mini concert once again! To spice up the concert, we hope to include a variety of performances, with piano playing as the main performance. Apart from piano solos, we hope there will be piano duet, piano+violin, piano+guitar, piano+ flute, piano+vocal, band... etc performances.
It will be great if there's at least 3 different types of performances (: so if any of you can sing, or you can play other instruments, or you can your friends can play duet tgt.... etc...please please tell us k!
please try to find the partner that you're collaborating with by NEXT TUESDAY if possible! (: & decide on the song that you guys are playing. you may want to bring along your instrument (violin, flute etc...) to practice during next tuesday CCA session!
for others who wish to perform in piano solos, please also choose a song and bring along your music scores to practice next tuesday!
*you may choose to play ANY SONG (: BUT preferably POP SONG if possible!!
*max. duration for each song = 4min
*if you've no idea what song to play, i've posted some music scores website links on the bottom right of the page(: i've some piano duet scores with me too, if you guys need them, i'll bring for you next tues! or if you need any pop song music scores, you can drop me a message too, i'll help to search for them (:
*beginners, you can perform in the concert if you want (: if you're not confident enough, you can always ask the J2 seniors to play a simple duet piece with you, or you can ask your friends to perform with you too!
Our concert is just less than a month away! so ganbatte everyone (: To all J2s, i guess this will be the last time that we are performing before we step down in May... so i urge all of you to join! let's make our last performance a memorable one (:
We'll discuss about the concert again next tuesday during our CCA session!
2) NYPE Service Learning Project (:
Hougang Sheng Hong Family Service Centre (near Kovan MRT)
Basically, we will be teaching music to children from low income families. (from introduction to composers...to practical lessons....etc) We'll update you with the details again on our next CCA meeting session (:
